| Ask the Experts a Question about Pay As Go Phone . | |

I'm wanting to get a pre-paid cell phone. I don't really want it for fun, but only to use in emergencies or if I need to call home. So, I don't really plan to use but a few minutes a month, probably less than ten most months. I don't know exactly how many I would need.
What would be the best pay as you go phone company for this? I know most of them require you to keep buying minutes to stay active, are there any companies that don't require it? One that you actually just pay as you need them?
I had Cingular in the past and just never used the minutes so I wasted all that money. So far, it looks like Trac Phone may be the best.
Does anyone know any company that would work better for me?
Thanks

Can you put a sims card from a pay as you go phone in a bill phone? Put without activateding the bill. Cant you just buy a $15 phone card for the new one instead of paying the bill. And if you can do this will the bill phone have its own charateristics or will it have the pay-as-you-go phone characteristics?
Thanks Aaron
i have a filp phone (pay-as-you-go) and im wanting to put its sim card in a razar or blackjack(bill-phone).

Can you take a regular cell phone for verizon & convert to a pay as you go? Meaning if I had a regular contract phone, can use it like an inpulse phone - pay as you go? I see they have pay as you go phones that are exactly the same as the regular ones? I know that when I had a phone through Nextel, they said on some of the phones they could do it as that (like for boost).
Thank you-
